PROGRAM
Alexander Electric Co. is committed to the prevention of personal injury and human suffering
through the prevention of accidents. Our goal is to be a leader in employment safety as measured by degree of
excellency achieved in the nine basic activity areas of our safety program. Safety programs are held weekly within our Company. All aspects of construction safety are covered in these programs.
Because of the emphasis on safety, from
our Company President down, our workers compensation insurance
cost is probably the lowest of comparable companies in the area.
Our experience modifier rate is well below the national average
and is attributed to our commitment to safety. The modifier rate
reduces the premium cost of workers compensation insurance, which
reduces our cost and ultimately what our customers pay. In addition
to the experience modifier, our insurance base rates for electricians
are less than the published rates. Our insurance carrier then
further gives us a deductible credit, a schedule credit and a
premium discount.
As a State of Georgia Certified Drug
Free Workplace, our workers compensation premium is further reduced.
Our commitment to safety is recognized by our insurance company
and is reflected in all the discounts we receive. Since our carrier
is a mutual company, we qualify for a cash dividend based on the
yearly overall group loss analysis.
Through software provided by our agent, we are able to check motor vehicle records of our employees. The driving record for all applicants for employment is checked before an employment offer is made. Periodic driving record checks are done on all authorized company drivers.
